Lawrence Park &
Woodland Park

Both Lawrence Park and Woodland Park are community recreation spaces with nature trails along rivers and ponds.

Herron Park is the gateway to the Foy’s to Blacktail trail system and a local’s favorite. Located off Foy’s Lake Rd., the trails are open to runners, hikers, cross country skiers, horseback riders and snowshoers. Scenic views include Big Mountain, Flathead Lake, and Smith Lake.

Lone Pine State Park

Just 5 miles SW of Kalispell and the second oldest Montana state park, Lone Pine State Park is home to 7.5 miles of trails for running, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and snowshoeing. Enjoy scenic overlooks of Flathead Lake, Big Mountain, and on a clear day Glacier National Park.

Trails outside of Kalispell, within 20 minutes

Family-friendly trails open year-round with multiple loop variations. Dogs allowed on-leash only. Popular loops include a 2.7 mile loop and a 7 mile loop. Visit the Flathead Valley Land Trust for more trail information and to download the trail map.

Harrell Forest (Bigfork)

Single track trails that wind through forests and meadows. The trails are connected and loop back into each other without trail markers. Frequented by mountain bikers, keep a heads up and practice proper trail etiquette while sharing the trails.

Pig Farm Trails (Kalispell)

A great out-and-back gravel trail that runs along the Swan River in Bigfork, MT.

Whitefish Trails

A large 20+ acre park in Columbia Falls along the Flathead River. Experience river frontage, open meadows and wooded forest trails. There are also picnic areas, benches, a family-friendly fishing pond, community garden and a restroom.
